Sarah moved to the Bay Area to be a beatnik in 1989. She is a vocalist, accordionist, and rhythm guitarist in several Bay Area bands, including the Au Contraires and the LOFT Tango Orchestra.

We knew for some time that we wanted swelling harmonies on “Down to the Mountain” once we realized the direction it was going. We couldn’t necessarily pack a gospel choir into Goody Sound but we did the next best thing by getting Sarah along with Amyellyn and Lorna, who all perform together from time to time as Triage. They spent their own time developing these beautiful swelling parts and helped us take this song where it needed to go.
What great voices, and what a blend! and through it you can still hear the details in Sarah’s voice, the purity of her harmony points, and the deep well of feeling.
