Notes
Javier’s tasty sinuous rhythms are threaded through this record, from the opening track to the penultimate number, seamlessly weaving together pop, groove, down home, and righteously soaring.
One of the best days I spent in the studio making this record was playing “Zoo Wolves” live after Javier laid down a shaker track to guide us. His congas then gave us the throbbing pulse to improvise over, me on my electric uke, Robert on his bass, and David on his two-spirited guitar and spellbinding looper rig.
