Notes

Once (very incorrectly) hailed as “the Jerry Garcia of ukulele” by his friend Marc Stein, Christian took up the instrument after achieving a passing acquaintance with his acoustic guitar.

The ukulele ended up doing a better job of teaching Christian how to play and accompany his own singing, and after years of woodshedding he felt comfortable enough to ask to play sometimes with his friend Dan and Bill, with whom he eventually (along with Dan’s friend and sound maestro on bongos) formed a quasi-legendary band, The Reuben Kincaid, best known for “Pruno,” “Single-Cell Critter,” and “Baby Turtles.”

Under the tutelage of Dan and other songwriting friends and influenced by so many others, Christian finally started writing songs of his own in 2019. The first twelve he finished comprise this album.
